The 2010 West Virginia Trainer’s
Challenge was the search to find West Virginia’s best colt start trainer.

Trainer's Challenge WINNER - Robert (Junior) McClaughlin
The
three trainers
who were selected from submitted entries to compete were Dan Hull, Bobby Knight, and Robert (Junior)
McClaughlin, Jr.
These trainers had four and one half hours over three days to train a horse that has never been ridden in front of the audience and judges.
In the finale Sunday afternoon, the trainers rode their trained horse through
an obstacle course.
Friday
The draw - Each trainer randomly selected the name of a horse from
the horse supplied.
The trainers had two hours to work with their selected horse.
Saturday
Trainers had 1 1/2 hours to work with their selected horse.
Sunday
Trainers had 1 hour to work with their selected horse.
The Finale - Trainers had to negotiate their selected horse through an
obstacle course against the clock.
